I Spoke Too Soon

Is it Murphy's Law? I'm not sure, but I "bragged/blogged" about Walker not going through the terrible 3's and not an hour later, he started throwing gigantic fits, telling us no and crying about any and everything we tell him to do. I just have to laugh. Isn't that the way life works??

This is his preschool picture proof. He looks just like his daddy in these pictures. :-) Guess who forgot it was picture day? Do you see what I mean about picking out his outfits? He picked out this lovely, old Walmart camo shirt with Walmart red/blue striped shorts that were Will's. This is a battle I've chosen not to fight this year. He may not be dressed perfectly, but you know what? I don't care! I love letting him decide and I love to see the proud look on his face when he tells me he picked out his outfit. My sister was always like this. She would pick out the most hideous clothing combinations and I love that my mom let her show her creativity. Maybe she was just too exhausted to fight it? ;-)

Happy Fall!

Before I update you on our life, I want to ask you to visit my friend Sara Walker's Caringbridge site to the left. I humbly ask you to pray for her. I just simply feel agony over her suffering and it has been such a hard journey for her. You will be so blessed by reading her story. It is one of complete heartbreak but her faith and love for the Lord is nothing short of a miracle. Please pray for her, her husband Brian, her boys Camden and Scott and her parents and family.
I've really neglected the blog! Three months without a post! We have been so busy. Life has been happening and I haven't even thought about updating. It's just so much easier to keep up with life and pictures through FB, but I'm tired of looking at beach pictures from July! We've been busy here! We moved in July and have been working on our house. We love our new neighborhood. It has been such a blessing! The Lord always knows what we need and it just amazes me to look back at so many prayers answered!!
Will started kindergarten and just LOVES it. He is doing so well and I'm so glad we made the decision to hold him back a year. The boys both had a fun soccer season and really enjoyed it this year. Now, we are gearing up for Will to play basketball for the first time. I feel like Will has just grown up before my eyes. There is just something about starting school that makes a child grow up. He has the most precious teacher and we are so thankful for her! She has been such a blessing and it is so wonderful to know that he is loved at school. He is learning so fast! He rides the bus to and from school and it just warms my heart to see him get off the bus in the afternoon. I just see that chubby baby that is so tall now and can't believe it has gone by so fast. I'm amazed how much has changed with technology since I was teaching.

Walker is loving his 3's class at preschool and wants to go to school every day! He misses his big brother, but has adjusted to having me all to himself! Walker is just a constant joy. He keeps us laughing all the time and luckily he hasn't gone through the terrible 3's like Will did. He gave us a run for our money for the first two years with his curiosity and he's gotten so easy and fun to be around. He loves sports of any kind, is VERY opinionated about his choice of clothing! Very different from his big brother who would let me dress him in anything at this age. He loves his teacher Ms. Stephany and is just so happy at school this year. He has one other boy in a class of all girls and that just suits him fine.

Muffins with Moms-2011 or is it Moments? Can't remember!

Our preschool has a day to honor moms. We had a special time eating muffins, fruit and Mrs. Pams yummy biscuits from her store in Pegram. Will gave me the sweetest dishtowel with his handprint and a bible verse. We also got their memory books and a missing mommy poster with a description of me from Will's point of view. The funniest part was the last sentence that said, Last seen-most likely to be found at: and Will's response was "at a fabric store." I got a good laugh out of that one. It's the simple things that I will look back on and cherish. I'm honored to be the mommy of these sweet, funny boys.

Walker's parties were always in the afternoon this year. This may suprise you, but Walker was one of the 2 or 3 kids that actually slept during naptime and slept very hard. Most of the time, he would just sleep through snack and dismissal even with the lights on and lots of noise. Why doesn't he do that at my house???????? This is his Muffins with Mom's. I had to come in and wake him up for the party so that is why he has major bedhead and doesn't look very happy. I also had to do this for his own birthday party. Poor little guy~wears himself out.
