This will be the last of the birthday posts from Walker's 2nd birthday. We are moving on~next two goals for the summer~getting rid of the paci and potty training! I'm not looking forward to either, but they must be done! Walker had his 2 year check up yesterday and we read our book "Corduroy goes to the Doctor" to prepare him. He did great! He didn't have to have shots and that was the main thing I was worried about. Hurray for no more shots until his 4 or 5 year well visit. He weighed in at 31 lbs 3 oz. and was 36 inches tall. He was in the 89 % (I think) for both categories. Big Boy!! I checked back to see what Will's stats were for 2 and they are almost identical. Will weighed 31 lbs even and was 35 1/2 inches tall, so Walker is actually bigger than Will was, but not by much.
We had a few of Walker's friends (his age) from church plus two of his favorite older friends, "Drewie and Wibby" and their siblings over for a picnic and cupcake playdate. The weather was beautiful and we had lots of fun! I still can't believe my baby is 2!!!!!!

Walker and Carolina. How cute is she???? I loved her little pigtails.
Just a swinging.
The 2 year olds (Colton, Cash, Walker and Drew) eating their picnic lunch. Here is the post of Will's 2nd birthday sitting at the same table with these little boys' older brothers.

Walker's buddies from church, Colton, Cash and Drew. I have the same picture of Will and the older brothers (Brooks and Jackson) of these kids at the same table from Will's 2nd Birthday.
I never get any pictures of the moms so I got Will to take a picture of us. We had a picnic outside and Will was so cute taking the pictures. After he was done, he said, "That was a really good one."
Big brothers Jackson, Will and Brooks.
Walker eating his cupake or I should say cupcakes. He knew mommy was busy and kept sneaking the cupcakes. I think he ended up eating 3!!! by the time it was over. Never a dull moment with this two year old.

Walker's Birthday~continued
You might be wondering why his birthday balloon says Happy 1st Birthday. That was the second balloon I bought that day. He loves balloons so I wanted him to have one on his birthday. Will was playing with it and somehow popped it. I had to run to the store to get a few things I forgot and wanted to get W a new balloon. This was the only one they had and I didn't have the patience to wait for a new one so Elmo's first birthday it was! That one popped too. It just wasn't meant to be to keep that balloon.
He was so excited about his cake and candles. He kept giggling and had the biggest grin on his face. It was so sweet watching him try to blow out the candles. He couldn't do it and asked Will to help. Will was dying to blow those candles out and I'm glad Walker wanted his help.

Yummy strawberry cupcake!
He was NOT happy about having to stop eating his cupcake to take a picture with Will. You may or may not have noticed that Will seems to have on this superman shirt or his batman shirt in every. single. picture. I wash them about 3 times a week and that is all he wants to wear. He is very into the superhero stuff right now and it's just a battle that I don't choose to fight so that is why he's wearing it in almost every post.
More present opening.

Dad's visit
This picture cracks me up. This is what a majority of the pictures look like. It's so hard to get everyone to look at the camera and I wish I had audio of us trying to get the boys to look at the camera.
My dad came up a few weekends ago and we had the best time. He went with Len to the SEC tournament and Len really enjoyed getting to spend some guy time with my dad. They both share a love for sports and I'm so glad they were able to go together. Len lost his father to a hard battle with cancer when Will was only 5 months old. He misses him so much and my dad has really been so good to him and become a father figure in his life. My boys love their papa. He took us out to brunch on Sunday at Southside Grill. This restaurant is right down the street from our house and if you haven't ever been, you need to go. It's deeeelicious!!!!!!!!

Dyeing Easter Eggs
I'm trying to catch up on some of our March activities. We dyed our Easter Eggs the day before Easter and I would be lying if I said this was fun and uncomplicated. The boys just get so excited and I have "the idea" of a perfect little activity in my head and it didn't go as planned. The whole time, the boys were impatient to do their eggs, spilt two of the cups of dye and just couldn't understand the concept of waiting on their egg to get dyed. There was a little bit of yelling, some tears from Walker and just overall craziness. The whole time, Walker cried, "I do it, self!" Will broke the crayon that comes with the kit, Walker cracked several eggs and we used almost a whole roll of paper towels trying to clean up mess after mess. In hindsight, we should have just waited for Walker to go to bed. We've always done this with Will since he was 1 and it's never been so complicated. Oh, well! That is the complete honesty of our lives and you win some and lose some. I'm sure it was fun for them and that's all that really matters.

Walker singing Jesus
Walker's favorite song is Jesus Loves the Little Children. I can't even begin to estimate how many times a day we sing this song. We can't sing anything else. It has to be "Jesus" as he calls it and he says it with the cutest little lisp you've ever heard (well, cute for his momma to hear) I overheard Walker counting to 10 a few minutes ago and tried to video tape it and he. would. not. do. it. for. the. camera. He acts really silly as you will see in this video. It makes me laugh. So here he is singing "Jesus" with a little help from me. I hope your ears don't hurt from listening to my singing. I will go ahead and apologize now. It looks like there isn't a video, but just click play to see it. He normally sings it alot better, but can't handle being on video.

About to feed the ducks
We have been missing our sweet SueSue. She goes to take care of my grandparents every single weekend so if we want to see her, we've got to go to her. She works all week, drives 3 1/2 hours after work on Thursdays, comes home on Sunday so she can go back to work on Monday. She tirelessly and selflessly cares for my grandparents. She has done this every weekend for over a year. She is fiercely devoted to her parents and has so much love and respect for them. It is not an easy job at all. My grandmom is bed ridden and my grand dad is starting to lose his mind a little bit. At first, it was hard for me to see my grandmom like this and I didn't like to go down there. It made me so sad and I didn't want to remember her this way, but I still have all of my special memories of her and even though I have to remind her who I am now, I still have her name and hope I can live up to it one day. She was such a strong, vibrant woman. I can still picture her skirt swishing as she walked back in forth in the kitchen and hear her laugh as she met me at the door when I got to her house. She was always laughing and always happy. I never saw her angry or sad. She was always so busy doing things for other people. She made pound cakes for anyone who was sick or needed cheering up. She always made me feel like I was the most special person in all the world when I was with her and I could talk to her about important things in my life and she gave me great advice. She loved to cook and took great pride in fixing her family a big southern meal of fried chicken, okra, and cornbread. We would all come home from church, change clothes and start helping out in the kitchen (my mom would make sure of that!) I can remember eating so much I would feel sick and then we would take a big nap, but not her. She would spend all afternoon cleaning her kitchen and I would do everything I could to get out of the cleaning part!
Okay, I just got completely off on that post. I could write a book about my grandmom and all of the wonderful memories I have of summers, Christmases, and Easters at her house. If we want to see SueSue, we go to Tuscumbia and we've gone down there a few times over the last couple of months and have thoroughly enjoyed each visit. Will and Walker love being there and as soon as I pull out of the driveway, they ask me when they can go back. Even though we haven't been to Montgomery since Christmas (and I miss my sister terribly!) my dad has been so great to come see us a bunch and we get to see my mom at Nene and Papa's and we're creating new memories for the boys and I'm so happy they have gotten to spend time with their great grandparents. Nene is almost like a child now and she has really connected with Will. Her face lit up like I haven't seen in so long when Will sang Jesus Loves the Little children to her and she sang it as loud as she could. He sat with her for hours one afternoon watching Shirley Temple and doting on her every need. I got to see a side of Will that kind of reminds me of myself when I was little. Even though my mom's life isn't normal right now, we've all found a new normal and it's great! All I need is my sister to come to Nashville. Just ditch your own kids needs and come on up! ha!!!

Trip to AL
We went down to AL a few weeks ago to see one of my favorite cousins, Julie and her precious little boy Sam and twin girls Anna and Sarah. Will loved getting to reconnect with his cousin who is six months younger. They had so much fun together that Will even stayed an extra night after I went home. We went to the park, the Palace and just played at Nene's house.
5 of Nene and Papa's 16 great grand children eating Nene's famous pound cake that my mom made.
Poor Nene, I thought this picture was so funny. One of the kids must have made this flower necklace and I don't know who put it on her head. I just happened to walk in the room and Walker had climbed into her hospital bed and was trying to give her some pat pats on her face. I'm sure she was stressed with all the kids in her bed. She has dementia and alzheimers and you can literally walk out of the room after you've been talking to her and walk back in and she'll say "who are you?" It is so sad, but sometimes she says the funniest things. We just try to find the humor in it.
Will and Anna reading a bed time story together. We made pallets on the floor for the kids, which is what we always did growing up. I can still remember us all laying on pallets in the living room, the noises of the window air conditioner and laughing and telling stories with my cousins, while our parents threatened us to quit talking and go to sleep. I have some of the best memories of going to my Nene's house. We all used to laugh so hard, get in so much trouble and we just loved being together, so I want my kids to have those special times with their cousins too.
