Destin

We spent the last few days in Destin with one of my friends Ashley and her little girls. Will had so much fun! He got very brave at the end of the trip and was trying to swim with his floaties. He loved the ocean and the sand. We went to Baytowne Wharf in SanDestin and had so much fun eating at Poppy's and walking around the piers. They had a live band and a dance floor and Will and Ella danced for everyone at the restaurant. It was so cute. I attempted to get pictures of them dancing. It is such a neat hideaway. I wanted to get our picture taken in the big chair but I just decided to wait until we go back in a few weeks. Here are a few pictures of our trip. We could have stayed at the beach forever but it was so hard without Len to help me. It really makes me appreciate him more when I'm away.

To break up our trip, we spent the night in Montgomery on the way down and on the way back and Will had a blast. I'm childless right now because he didn't want to go home with me and wanted to stay with his cousins and I needed a BREAK! He was very happy to see me go. My sweet sister offered to keep him for the week! She is the best aunt!! We are meeting them at my grandparents this weekend. This will be the longest I've ever been away from him and Len and I have some fun things planned. Right now we are just sitting here wondering what we used to do before he was born. Here is a picture of the crazy cousins. This is what it usually looks like when they are all together. It gets WILD!!! "Aunt Al" as she likes to call herself got Will "Mack" to add to his cars collection. He wouldn't put it down or share! What's new?

2 year well visit

We had Will's 2 year appointment today. He did really well. He had to have a splinter removed from his toe and that was the worst part. He had his 2nd hepatitis shot and he didn't even cry. He weighed in at 31 lbs and was 35 1/2 inches. He is in the 80th percentile for both height and weight. We love Dr. Myers. She always makes me feel so good about Will's growth and development and she said he was right on track for everything, even the speech. She said we could buy a potty and just put it in his playroom to get him use to the idea, but I've decided not to even start on it until he's 2 1/2. Thank goodness for our book Cordoroy goes to the Doctor. We read it and he did great!

To add to the drama of our day,

Will got a bee sting tonight. I benedrylled (sp?) him up and he's sleeping soundly. The downstairs still has a funny smell. I sprayed a whole bottle of febreeze in the playroom. I hope we're not one of those families whose house always has a faint smell of poop!

My poor baby! It hurt really bad. He's normally pretty tough, but this one got the best of him.

"Mama, please quit taking my picture and move so I can watch Barney" is what Will is thinking when I took his picture. He was trying to look over the camera so he could see the TV.

I learned a lesson the hard way.......

If you are upstairs cleaning and your child is downstairs being very quiet, YOU NEED TO CHECK ON HIM!!! What's this brown playdo you might be asking yourself. It's not playdo. I was upstairs cleaning and Will was downstairs playing, which he always does. He comes upstairs covered and I mean covered in poop from head to toe. The pictures do not do it justice. This is really the grossest thing I have EVER experienced as a mother. I undressed him and threw him in the bath and went downstairs to assess the damage. OH MY GOSH!! Will had fingerpainted with his own poop. There was poop on the walls, grinded in the carpet, all over Will's train table and in the train table drawers. It was so disgusting!!!!! All of his cars and trains were covered in poop. I have heard of this happening to other people before, but I never thought it would happen to me. Luckily, my parents got hardwoods put in their house and had given me their old carpet cleaner. I spent all morning cleaning the carpet, cloroxing toys and scrubbing down the walls and train tables. To look at the positive side, at least Will is starting to acknowledge that he has a dirty diaper. Maybe this will put us one step closer to thinking about potty training. I hope these pictures don't gross anyone out. I just wanted you to see how disgusting my morning was. I didn't even say a word about it to Will. I didn't want to make a big deal about it so that he wouldn't do it again. Maybe I will look back on this and laugh one day, as long as it only happens once.

The carpets are clean again after an hour of carpet cleaning.

Here are all the cars and train tracks I had to clean. Don't worry, I had on rubber gloves.

I've added a few more posts below. You know how I go in spurts.

Sleeping with Sheriff

Will loves his new "Cars" cars so much that he even sleeps with them. I had to take a picture of it. He is now sleeping in his "big boy" bed. He never liked his crib and he has taken naps in the guest room since he was 9 or 10 months old so we decided to go ahead and make the transition. We were rocking him to sleep every night and it was starting to take almost an hour to get him to sleep, and he would be sound asleep and as soon as we laid him down in his crib, he would wake up and scream and cry and then we would rock him more. It was getting exhausting for me and Len so we had to make a change. It has worked out so much better!! We've gotten a good routine with reading a few books, saying our prayers and then we just lay down with him and he falls asleep after a few minutes. His room is a work in progress. I will post pictures of his new room as soon as we get it done. It might be awhile though. I've ordered his bedding and when I get it in we're going to work on the paint color.

My mom is a little crazy...

she was being silly the other night and tried to fix my hair like a girl. I do have to admit, I think I would be a pretty girl.

Will's Birthday continued

We had a few people over to eat cupcakes and sing happy birthday to Will. I didn't do the red cupcakes this time thank goodness! We did make homeade ice cream and it was so yummy!
Watching everyone sing happy birthday.
Riding in my wagon with Brooks. Here's your croc.
Eating a cupcake with Brooks.
Will, Brooks, Jackson and Brody. I love this picture because Will and Jackson's mouths are covered with blue icing.
All of the daddies standing around talking.
Auntie Brooke gave Will Towmator, Tipping Tractor and Lightning McQueen cars and you should have seen the look on his face when he opened them. He was so excited, he wouldn't even hug Brooke. She also gave him a cool Cars plate and cup. Thank you Brooke!
Craig, Brody, Will and Len in the swing.
Here is a picture of Will holding his "Cars" cars from Brooke. He hasn't put them down for two days and he even slept with them. I would have to say that these are his favorite gift!

McInteer's Pool

Me, Brooke and Lauryn
Brooke, Lauryn, Will and McHaney (who is so cute and happy)

Will giving Brooks a kiss on the shoulder. Both boys aren't fans of the pool.
Heather and Brooks (I didn't think Heather or Carrie would mind me posting these pictures since they both look awesome!!
Carrie and Ethan who is just precious and sweet.
We went to the McInteer's house on Friday for lunch and to swim. Will doesn't like to swim in big pools. I wish we would have taken mommy and me swim lessons because it would have helped him with his fear of the water. He loves baby pools and the zero entry pool at the Y but he is very unsure of himself when he's in a big pool. Here are a few pictures of our day.

More Birthday

We celebrated Will's birthday tonight with our little family of three. I'm going to try not to post to many pictures, but I might have to. It is his birthday after all.
Lauryn came over today to wish Will a happy birthday.

When Will started opening his first present, he would take a small piece of the wrapping paper off at a time and then he had to go throw it away in the trash. It was so funny. He was more concerned with throwing the trash away than he was opening his present.

He is really into Thomas the Train so he got Duck and Toby (which is his favorite). For those of you familiar with Thomas, you know who Duck and Toby are. As soon as he opened each train he said their name and knew exactly which one was which.

All I can say is that I'm no Martha Stewart. The cake didn't turn out quite the way I pictured it!

Blowing out the candles in my tomato cake.

Will loved the candles and was very interested in them.

The first bite. Doesn't this cake look scary?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY WILL !!!

Today is Will's 2nd birthday. It's hard to believe that two years ago today we were about to go to the doctor to see if he was ready to come! It has gone by so fast! I'm not going to get cheesy and sentimental on my blog, but this has been the best 2 year of my life. Will is such a sweet child and it is so much fun to wake up to him every morning. He is talking so much now. He can finally tell me what he wants and he has so many new words everyday. He is a runner and runs everywhere he goes. He is such an active child and I can't sit down for a minute when we are out in public.
Here are a couple of pictures from breakfast this morning. I will post a few more later.

SueSue and Papa came last weekend to celebrate Will's birthday. We ate the Cheesecake Factory in the mall. This is the only picture I took. Sorry dad, I don't know how I managed to only get one picture. Will loves SueSue and Papa. I meant to get pictures of him when we brought out his big birthday present. It's a mini 4 wheeler. It only goes 2 miles an hour but it is so cute!

4th of July

We had so much fun tonight with the Tanners and Sassers. We went to Crockett Park to watch the fireworks. We loaded up in the back of Bryan's truck to go to the park and the kids did great. The adults had a lot of fun too!
This is typical Frances and Will!!
