Soccer Practice

Len's mom's husband brought the boys these soccer uniforms back from a recent trip to Brazil. So cute! Walker thinks he is playing soccer too and runs along and kicks the ball. It is the cutest thing. Dribbling the ball with a paci in his mouth. I think he is enjoying soccer more than Will is. It just kills him to have to sit in his stroller during the games.

Will's Big Boy Room

Here is the final product. I'm pretty happy with it. His furniture is all painted black except for the iron bed, which was mine and I just didn't want to paint it black. I thought it might look too strong. I bought the little red letters at Joann's and painted them red and distressed them on the edges to look worn. The whole ensemble looks a little funny in the pictures b/c it is centered away from the light switch but it looks okay in person. I still have to find a picture to put in the frame between the letters and the coat rack. I'm still not 100% loving that look, but it will do for now. I found the Pottery Barn panels at a consigment sale for $5 a piece and they matched his bedding perfectly!! I just found a HUGE world map (from my old teaching stash) and it is made especially for children and I'm going to put that on the other wall after I get it framed and lamenated. I forgot to take a picture of the shelf above his closet. Len made this shelf after seeing the ones his brother made for his nephews. We painted it black and put all of his momentos and things from his nursery above it. They are all very sentimental to me. I'll try to remember to take a picture of that and post it as well. It feels good to have a complete room after so long!

Will's Big Boy Room-Finally!

I've finally gotten around to finishing Will's big boy room. It's about time since he has been in there for two years now! I found these two paintings on a website for over $50 a piece and loved them, but didn't love the price. Len helped me sketch out the drawings and I painted the rest. I bought this piece of wood, painted and distressed it and added hooks to hang hats, backpacks and Will's new library card (on a necklace rope thing). The dresser was Len's when he was growing up and I painted it black and he added new pulls. I would like to get bigger molding for the bulletin board, paint it red and distress it. I used red for the accent color. There is a tiny bit of red in his quilt so I wanted to pull that out.

Easel

I found this easel at a consignment sale for $7. It has provided lots of fun for Will! and Walker to if he can get into it!

Walker in action

This happens probably 25 times a day! Same goes for the kitchen table, the piano and anything else he can figure out how to get up on. He even pushed a chair up to the kitchen counter, climbed on the counter top and threw my laptop off while I was gone to switch the laundry in the dryer for all of 1 minute! This boy DOES NOT STOP! If he can get into it, he will. If he can't, he will figure out a way!
