Little Backyardigan

Here are a few pictures of Will playing outside today. We got him some gardening boots at Target and he loves them! He has learned how to climb on our fence and is very proud of his new trick.

Will's Future Girlfriend

We went to the Nolensville Women's Fair this morning with Brooke and Lauryn Semanchik. She is going to be a heartbreaker one day! We have a busy weekend and the weather here is absolutely beautiful! Will loves playing outside and he is so much happier and content when he can play in the backyard. I think God created spring for mothers!

Happy Birthday Len!!

We went to Gastonia this week to see our cousins Gage and Davis. It's a seven hour drive and we were dreading that part of the trip but Will did really good. Thank heavens for portable DVD players. I don't know what our parents did when we were little. We had a great time! Will loved playing with his cousins. He got to ride on the John Deere tractor and Gator. He couldn't figure out how to push the petal though. He loves their little dog Millie. He played with her and kept trying to pick her up. He also got to ride in his late grandpa George's 62 Corvette. He actually just played in it. Len and I took it out for a ride. It made Len so happy! We went to this field and flew a remote control airplane. It was so cute to watch the boys run to the airplane after it crashed. Ward and Heather took us to Charlotte to eat at Morton's to celebrate Len's birthday. It was fabulous and our first time eating there. Will did great with the babysitters and it was so much fun to see the look on his face when we got home. We also celebrated Len's Bday with hot pink cupcakes as you can see on Will's face. We had a great trip home. Oh and I happened to catch Will picking his nose for the first time and got a picture of that too! He hasn't done it since. Enjoy!

Who do you think he looks like?

These are our baby pictures at around the same age as Will.
Everyone always asks, "Where did he get that blonde hair?"

Should we be worried?

Just kidding! He's all boy, but he sure does love trying on my shoes. I was doing laundry and came in my room to this. It made me laugh so hard. Kids are so funny.

This is what happens when my mom cuts my hair....

I said I was going to do it. I decided to do it myself and I kind of botched it up. It really doesn't look that bad. He was afraid of the scissors so I just had to grab a chunk and cut it when I could.

Grandparents

Len's mom came to Hendersonville to check on her mom and we met her for dinner Saturday night and then went over to Len's great Aunt Sara's house to play a little bit. This morning, my mom called and told me that their flight had a two hour layover in Nashville so we hopped in the car and headed out to the airport to see SueSue and Papa. Will was so full of himself at the airport, running all over the place.

Bo Duke was on Tennessee Mornings last week and Len got to meet him. He drove up in the General Lee. Len was so excited because he grew up watching this show. I watched it too and loved it. I can't believe my parents let us watch it since they wouldn't even let us watch "ET." We usually had to watch Shirley Temple or Ann of Green Gables or something like that. Ha ha Sorry mom and dad, I'm still mad that you wouldn't let us see ET.

Cheese!

We have always had trouble getting Will to smile for pictures. We tried everything to get him to smile for his Christmas pictures but nothing worked. We taught him how to say "Cheese" for pictures and now he says it everytime although his version of the word is "CHEE" Here is a picture of him saying cheese.

Messy Boy

This is what he usually looks like at the end of the day.

My talented husband

Here is a link to The Nashville Scene article on the Lipscomb Art Event. Len's picture is on the top left. You will have to cut and paste because Safari doesn't let me link things and I don't feel like going through Internet Explorer.

Len got very sick with a nasty stomach bug on the way to the opening night. He stayed as long as possible and was pretty sick all night and day so he was sad to miss most of it. He did sell 6 paintings so we were excited about that.
Also here's another plug for my husband. He is a realtor with Keller Williams so if you need or know of anyone who needs a realtor, my husbands a great one!

Hair cut dread

I know it's coming soon. I keep putting it off. My baby has a mullet. I never thought I would be a parent that just couldn't let go but I'm having a hard time. We've got to get Will a haircut. If you look back at his baby pictures, he was kind of hurting in the hair department. He's always had the peach fuzz hair and this summer it turned bleach blond so it looked like he was bald. He has finally gotten hair but really it's just in the back and on the sides. I know it has to be done but I want it to be some kind of memorable moment. I want the perfect before and after pictures for his baby book. I want to save his hair to put in an envelope. I'm worried that he won't sit still and his hair will get wacked off. I'm going to start working on the before pictures. Does anyone know of a good place to get a haircut that doesn't cost an arm and a leg? I really don't want to pay $25 to get half an inch cut off. I would try to do it myself but I'm afraid I will do some wack job and it won't look right. Hopefully I will force myself to get it done and stop putting it off. I guess we'll see. I will post some pictures when it's done.

5 days out of town and this is what happens

It's all my fault. I'm selfish. I brought the pack and play to Montgomery with full intentions of using it, but I don't like to sleep alone. I love snuggling with my baby. I let him sleep with me while we were in Montgomery. I knew it would make for a hard transition when we got home. Let me tell you, I'm a sucker for a crying baby. Guess who isn't? Daddy. Guess who didn't want him in our bed? You're right. He started out in his bed at 8. At 10 he was crying and I just couldn't stand it so my smug little baby immediately stopped crying as soon as I put him in our bed. After a night of no sleep with a baby kicking me all night long, I will be strong again. I know I will let him cry tomorrow night but for tonight, I will let him sleep with me because one day he will grow up and I will wish he could sleep with us again.

A few new pictures

Here is a picture of Will trying on my shoes. He has a funny habit of putting little things in my shoes. Whenever I go to put them on, I jump because I think there is some kind of bug or animal in them but it usually turns out to be a lego or ball or some little toy. It always makes me smile because I wonder where I was when he was doing this. ha ha

My little baby looks like a big boy. I can't stand it! I guess that's why I still like to dress him like a baby. He looks so grown up in his polo shirt and when he smiles with his mouth full of teeth. I can't believe he's growing up so fast. I guess that's how life is. It happens so fast.

The winter months aren't kind to people with straight hair as you can see. Will suffers from static cling, especially when he has to wear his fleece coat. Len held up a blanket over Will's hair and it stuck straight up.

Happy February Birthdays!!

Before February is over, I just wanted to say happy birthday to all of my family that had birthdays in February. I have been bad about posting so I just wanted to say happy birthday to Allison, Heather and Davis who turned 2!

I just realized it's been over two weeks since my last post. We have been sick and now we are in Montgomery. I forgot my camera so I don't have any good pictures to post. Will is having a great time with his cousins. He is starting to say more and today he said Ford's name. It sounded more like Thor. We went to the Montgomery Zoo yesterday and had a great time riding in the choo choo. It is so warm here right now. It was in the high 70's yesterday. Hopefully I can get my sister to take some pictures with her camera.
Will's newest thing is dancing. He loves to dance to the Thomas the Train song. Len and I just sit behind him and cover our mouths and laugh so that he won't see us. He wants to dance to everything now. There is this car commercial on TV that sounds like a rap song and he just starts dancing away. We need to get a video of it before he stops doing it. Maybe we can post it.

Snow Day

We got our snow day! I was so excited. Len woke me up at 4 a.m. to tell me that school was called off! I only had to work one day this week so that was nice. Carrie, to answer your question, I job share which means I only work part time. It's been a nice balance.
Will loved the snow. He even wore his mittens. We didn't stay out long though. It was just too cold. Here are a few pictures from the snow.

Brownie Lipstick

I decided to let WIll help me make brownies and this is where it got me. He immediately started eating the batter and ate WAY to much. He has a sweet tooth like his mother.
